He points out that 95% of Facebook employees are currently telecommuting, and says a survey conducted by the company found that 50% of Facebook employees said they work as efficiently at home as they work in the office. According to the survey, 40% of Facebook employees say they are extremely, very or to some extent interested in full-time telecommuting, while 75% of these employees say that if they can telecommute, they are either very confident or likely to move to other cities.
Before Facebook, twitter, square, a mobile payment company, and Shopify, an e-commerce company, made similar decisions, allowing employees to continue telecommuting.
Facebook also released new features for its enterprise communications software workplace on Thursday, and announced that the number of workplace paying users has increased from 3 million in October last year to 5 million today, driven by the new crown virus.
